Rangers target Alegria drops transfer hint

Rangers transfer target Juan Alegria has teased fans yet again with another hint on social media.

What’s the word?

According to The Daily Record, the highly-rated Colombian teenager finds himself on Rangers’ radar, having caught the eye in Finland after moving from his homeland.

The 18-year-old ended up staying at FC Honka during the January transfer window but is expected to tie up a move to Ibrox as the youth department works around the clock on a potential transfer.

Should Rangers sign Juan Alegria?

Yes!

No…

No...

And the former Colombia U17 international striker has given yet another clear indication that he could be making the switch to the Govan side of Glasgow this summer.

Alegria took to Instagram, posting a story whilst he watched Steven Gerrard’s side edge past Royal Antwerp in a seven-goal thriller in the Europa League.

He also reserved a special mention for his fellow countryman Alfredo Morelos, who picked up two assists against Antwerp on Thursday night.

Alegria could be game-changing

Rangers hardly have a shortage of attacking options at the moment, with Ross Wilson signing Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten in the summer to add to the existing contingent of Morelos, Greg Stewart and Jermain Defoe.

Putting a succession plan in place for the likes of Defoe and Stewart makes total sense, especially given the fact that the former is 38 and the latter has hardly featured at all for Gerrard’s side since the start of this season.

Bringing a young forward like Alegria to Ibrox and getting him to learn from the former England international before eventually replacing him would be a good move by the Gers.

He has already been dubbed the new Morelos – lofty expectations for any player, let alone a player of his young age. He clearly has all the talent to be a top talent for Rangers, though,  if he can continue upwards on his current trajectory.

Since joining the Finnish outfit, the teenage prospect has featured four times for their second-string side and scored four goals in as many games.

It’s fair to say that Alegria, therefore, could be a game-changer for the Gers with an eye on the future and when the summer transfer window comes around, it’ll be time for Wilson to strike this time.
